It is a lovely old hotel with an old world charm. The staff in the Le Bistro Restaurant were quite nice and very helpful with explanations on the menu items. Good location.

It was nice to be back at the Esplanade, where I had stayed for a prolonged period during the break-up of former Yugoslavia in 1991. This was planned as a family treat and my two kids were indeed impressed by the hotel’s palatial dimensions and luxurious atmosphere. Front-of-house staff were all attentive and pleasant.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us, as we arrived by train. We also liked the parks near the hotel to walk through to visit central Zagreb sights. This grand and historic hotel has everything that one would expect from this level of accommodation. The breakfast was superb and all hotel staff attentive. Something that I really appreciate was the fact that the level of the chairs matched the level of the tables in the breakfast room, this seems to be a lost art these days! Our room was comfortable and was in a quiet area of the hotel as requested. The stylish decor and subtle fresh flower displays throughout the hotel must be mentioned of course as all this adds to the wonderful experience of Esplanade Zagreb Hotel. Thank you to all involved in keeping this hotel in wonderful condition and tradition.

Super lux, better then what I expected.. i always wanted to stay at Esplanada..Room was fabulous..liek a presidential suite, service amazing, food even better ..We ate few meals at the restaurant, from štrukle to tatar steak etc..Lamb with artichoke was probably the best meal I ever tried anywhere..is no surprise that was recommended by Michelin guide..

The hotel has a lot of character, it is beautiful. The service is excellent, the check-in is a great experience, the room is nice, the bed is super comfortable, shower is powerful. The hotel is very central, only a 10 min walk from the main square and commercial road, only 1 min away from the trams (we used the tram to go to Sljeme cable cart) and the train station. We walked every where. Also, they have 2 restaurants and a bar with a great big terrace (can also have breakfast on the terrace, was great!)

Whenever in Zagreb I love to stay at this hotel. It’s full of charm, centrally located and I had the benefit of a renovated room. Staff are excellent and it was lovely to see so many faces that have been at the hotel since mid 2000. Excellent supply of toiletries and everything can be turned on and off from bed console.

Beautiful building, lovely dining area for breakfast, staff at the bar, dining and entrance were very helpful and attentive. The hotel has a long prestigious history but unfortunately some reception staff need more training in welcoming their guests and in general hospitality

Breakfast was above expextation. Room-in guy is worth mentioning - brilliant guy. Coctails were fine. Daily menu from bistro is nice with ok price. Good Gym. Best hotel for Advent season.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful! The staff was very friendly and so helpful! We had just landed from our flight and were feeling a bit jet lagged but from the moment we arrived, they all gave us such a warm welcome and took care of everything! They helped us make dinner reservations at the most delicious local restaurant, brought all of our bags to our room, and gave us suggestions for ways to walk around the city and maximize our visit. Our hotel room was immaculate, large, and incredibly comfortable - especially the bedding! The location of the hotel is perfect - it is located near the city parks and only a few minutes walk from the old town. We absolutely loved this city and very much enjoyed our stay - we can't wait to return!
